A few years back one of our local huntsmen, and area resident, took it upon
himself to start an organization designed to take a disabled child on a grouse
hunt. Two years later his dream came true. Jerry Snetsinger, founder and
current president of Under Broken Wings, brought a young boy and his family
to Grand Rapids to partake in the first annual “Broken Wings” grouse hunt.
There was no better time and place for such a wonderful start to a charity like
Under Broken Wings than at the 25th RGS Anniversary.
Participants for the event will include, but not be limited to, boys and
girls between the ages of 14-18 and have a disability that could limit their
opportunities to hunt in our forests. Mr. Snetsinger, along with the directors,
will organize a hunt each year and further the opportunities to the applicant
in regards to grouse hunting and other shooting events.
